Radiotherapy finished!!

Hi all,

Well I've finished radiotherapy! One more to cross off the list. After nearly 8 months my primary treatment has finally come to an end.  I now only having herceptin 3 weekly until October. Yeah! I have also come through relatively unscathed! I put this down to a positive attitude and working so that the mind is active ( less time to sit and think). The fatigue wasn't there or is it to come?!! I've tried to walk 30-50 mins every day which I'm sure has helped.

Hope everyone is travelling ok. Keep you posted about follow ups. I have my first appointment with my surgeon since my surgery in June, on the 5th April. I'm feeling fairly confident that nothing has "got through".

My anniversary is also coming up on the 26th May. Not looking forward to that!

Again I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Being HER 2 + and hormone receptor positive is a blessing. I've had the best treatment team. Many thanks to them - a wonderful group of professionals.

Thanks also to all the lovely pink ladies on this site who have offered such wonderful advice and words of wisdom.

Keep in touch and keep those blogs coming.

All the very best,

Love Alison xxxx

Hi Al - Congratulations! It must be a great feeling to say "Radiotherapy is over" . . . .  :-) Make sure you keep us update as to how you get on with your follow ups.
    Cheers, Daina

  • Well done Alison on completing this big step in your recovery.   They say that exercising does help  prevent fatigue, so i guess that's what helped you. All the best in your followup appointment with the Surgeon. It is a real anxious time but you will be fine.

All the best and keep well. Cheers Jo xx
