- arpieMemberThat's a shame @DianeD - welcome to the blog - you'll find lots of support and advice here xx. Where abouts are you? If you add your town/city to your profile, other members will be able to point you towards specific services in the area that you may be able to access. Also, if you jump onto 'Newly Diagnosed' and put up your story so far, we'll have a greater understanding of your treatment so far. xx

You say you've seen your Dr - but have you been in touch with your Onc, as I believe THEY should see it (or at the very least, the Onc Nurses?) Is there any weeping in the area? Sometimes, the stinging/stabbing can be from the Rads & can go on for a couple of months ..... But I really think you should see someone again before March.
Are you keeping the moisturisers up to it? Can you take photos to keep a record of any changes?
Were you face down for your Rads, as it is your nipple that was treated? Mine was too, with the machine going under the table, so the chest area wasn't 'hit'. I've been very lucky with mine still being very soft & even sensitive, still.
Feel free to Check this post out for different areas on the blog, including a link to 'tick sheets' down the bottom, to help you with your questions for your Medical Team members, when you see them next ...

Take care & all the best xx
- The doctor saw it, and doesn't think it is anything to worry about, is that right? But you said it appears to have taken a step back, let's hope it does clear up before you return in March, if still concerned I would contact the doctor again. I haven't heard of burns clearing up then taking a back step. Take care and let us know how you get on.
- DianeDMemberI completed 4 weeks of radiotherapy at the end of October 2021. I had the usual side effects of burning and pain but it appeared to be pretty good after about 4 weeks. However it appears to have taken a step back and the stinging pain in the nipple and hardened skin seem to have returned. I saw my doctor and he said he would see my again in March. I'm just wondering if all this is normal.
- ajsMemberThanks for the great advice ๐
- arpieMemberCongrats on finishing @ajs ... good that the cream is helping xx
It will continue to stay warm for some weeks, so do keep up the moisturisers ... and stay out of the sun unless well covered as the treatment area will be very sun sensitive xx
Take care - ajsMemberHi there! Just finished the 4 weeks of radiation. Things are literally heating up on the site and I now look like a beetroot! And very itchy! Was given some cortisone cream today to help! Hopefully!
- arpieMemberAll the best with the rads, @kahm .... keep the moisturisers up to the flesh after each session (not before) & if you notice redness/soreness at all .... alert the Rads Nurses to it before your next session, to get on top of it.
How are you going @ajs? I hope you are not experiencing any discomfort xx
If both of you whack your 'area/town' on your profile - members living nearby may be able to point you to specific services that may be available in your area ;)
Take care, you two xx - KahmMemberHow are you going with it all? I started 6 weeks of rads today, so you're a week or so ahead of me.
Hope allโs going well! - ajsMemberWhat a lovely message, thank you!
- Ausmum2Member@ajs all of the treatment is tough for those who have to do it and we are all just taking it one step at a time.We are going to be Ok you and I - we can do it - "how do you eat an elephant?" "one bite at a time"
