My Journey has now begun .
I have never felt so alone in my life. Numb i...
Hi Neen, How are you?
I too felt so totally alone within my family and friends network!!! I had a work friend who had gone through Bowel Cancer only a year or so before my diagnosis in 2011. She was the one person who understood the facts about cancer, and even though it wasn't Breast cancer, I felt an affinity towards her. We became and still are great friends and support one another totally. Deb is in her 5th year and I am in my 3rd of remission. I also spoke to a friend who had gone through BC about 8 years prior to me. Talking to them was paramount to my mindset during my treatment. I had 6 sessions of chemo and 29 treatments of radiotherapy. I had a terrible time with chemo, but my radiotherapy went rather well all things considered. I got very tired of course during the radiotherapy, but luckily the area the radiotherapy covered was very good. The doc gave me all sorts of stuff, but the best thing I found was 'Aloe Vera' (plant) and Sorbolene cream three times a day. The actual plant works better than the manufactured creams for me. I would cut off a fresh leaf and skin the aloe vera plant with a knife, then rub the sticky flesh onto the pink skin. then after letting it dry slightly, I would put the sorbolene over the top. This was amazingly simple but very effective. My skin did not blister even once and the skin stayed in tact too which helped dramatically. My breast stung a little at times but mostly I was very pleased with the result. I wish you well for your cancer journey hun and take care always and have a super Easter. XXX Mia XXX
