I was surprised I was so elated...but you do feel that a little bit of your life is back. Yes, I have found baths and ice packs a big relief.
I think more needs to be explained about the skin reactions too. I had folicalitus (not sure of spelling) first, I was so itchy and I didn't expect to get quite as burnt as I did, but my skin is fair.
