Hi Nadine, I had my surgery in mid May 2015 and I still have the blue, albeit it is fading. My onco surmised that it may never go away. I'm also still quite 'tanned' from the radiation.
The blue dye is used during the lumpectomy surgery...it's used to highlight as much of the cancerous tissue as possible, to see where the tumour carries the dye? I was told this by my surgeon (i think that is correct? it's a bit fuzzy now, so correct me if I'm wrong!) Also everything that came out of me for a few days after was blue also!

Thnx all, I forgot to ask my surgeon about this. Still pretty blue following SNB on 12 Nov but it is fading. OK to be a smurfette for a while.
Take care, Nadine
