Questions answered!

Thank you everyone for your comments on my previous post!  I had my appt on 15 Oct and am now booked in for a mastectomy and reconstruction on Wednesday 21 Oct.  My Dr is fantastic and answered all my questions.  I probably should've had more but he seemed to cover everything off nicely.  So now just a matter of waiting till Wednesday and hoping that the cancer has not spread.  I will be having a couple of nodes taken out too.  So thanks for your support and reassuring comments - they really do make a difference!  You guys rock xx

  • Thanks Lyn - yes so much you don't realise or know until it's happening to you!  Good luck with your treatment too!  Cheers Lisa

  • Good luck on Wednesday Lisa, will be thinking of you, I'm having chemo that day so will have lots of time to send postive wishes your way xx

  • Having confidence in your surgeon is so important. You're going to have a lengthy relationship. Knowing that you can ask and have your questions answered, in a way you understand is important too.

I'm glad that your appointment went well. You're so right about all the different treatment plans. I've just finished chemo, have a review with my surgeon this week & planning for surgery the following week. I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday, & beyond

    Lyn

  • Thanks Jane - I will keep everyone posted.  It's amazing how many different treatment plans there are - which I didn't realise until I had to work through my own treatment!  I feel like I am in good hands.  Thankyou again xx

  • Hi Lisa-Maree, just want to wish you all the best for Wednesday, and so glad your doctor was able to answer all your questions and help you feel more confident about it all. It makes a huge difference if you feel as though you have been listened to and have been well supported. It's also great that you're able to have immediate reconstruction, this was not an option for me due to my treatment plan, but it would have been good to have both these surgeries done at the same time. Let us know how you get on. Cheers, Jane xx
