PS: THE WORST IS OVER
Haven't blogged for a while.. but have certainly spent time reading others... it gives you strength! This is my PS.....;-)
Well, for me the worst is finally over! 7 months of Chemo followed by Radiation finished at the beginning of November. I then had my ovaries out and started Arimidex just over two weeks ago. Now it's time to think about returning to work (when school starts back next year)..
When I think about how well I feel now (despite being still tired and easily fatigued) it amazes me how far I've come.' The BC Journey'. Finding the lump on April 1, confirmation on April 5, Surgery April 13, Chemo - 18 weeks all up, and 29 fractions of Radiation. I was told at the beginning that it could be done... and I did it!
People say we're 'strong'... ' amazing'... just because we somehow got Breast Cancer... we're not... we're suvivors! You just do what you have to do, one day at a time... on hurdle at a time..
Throughout all this I've made some wonderful friends... my bald headed coffee group (Okay, we all have hair now) but we got together because we had BC in common....
There has been many tears... and the anxiety still rears it's ugly head at times... but now the focus is on doing what I can to get healthy so 'It' doesn't come back...
Thanks everyone for you support, and responses to my questions and blogs.... to those just starting out... you can do it... one day at time... remember it does get better.... I'm Cancer Free now... and I pray everyday that I stay that way.. but I'll know where to come if it comes back.
