Protocel 32

Hi,
Recently heard of this antioxidant. Does anyone use, or have heard of anyone using this product. Also known as  Cantron, Cancell and Entelev.
I am post-op,  radical surgery, also post- Chemo/T.  Due to start Radio/T later in August.
I am triple-negative, BCRA 1 on genetic testing.
I had DCIS diagnosed in 2001, requiring lump-ectomy with R/T. (opposite side)

Also, do I go for surgical removal of  remaining Breast tissue and Ovarian remnant tissue ? I am post menopause.

Cheers, good luck to you all, Fisch  xx

  • Hi @fisch, it's Lisa from the Policy Team. I just wanted to jump on to let you know that The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York have a very useful tool on their website called 'About Herbs' which you can use to search for particular herbs, botanicals and other products.

I have searched the 'About Herbs' and found information about CanCell (also known as Protocel, like you said). According to the information provided by the website, Cancell has not been shown to treat or prevent cancer. There is a note that the National Cancer Institute tested CanCell on cancer cells in laboratory studies and found it does not have anticancer activity.

Here is a link to the 'About Herbs' tool in case you would like to look at further information about CanCell or other products: https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/diagnosis-treatment/symptom-management/integrative-medicine/herbs.

As @primek said, we would always recommend you discuss any product with your oncologist before taking it because some products can interfere with cancer treatments.

    Warm regards,
    Lisa

  • I think all these things should be fiscussed with your oncologist and/ or genetic counselling team. They can give you statistics on with or without additional surgery.

I haven't heard of the antioxidant.  Kath x
