I don't know if this would be helpful, but there was a group of ladies making 'Knitted Knockers' which give some form without the weight, heat and stickiness. I'm reliably informed you can also jump on them in a fit of the trantrums without them exploding.
Obviously they won't help if you want to swim but it might be worth checking out (cue someone who can copy and paste a link, I can't from my tablet) while you get your head around the whole business. I've got implant recons, so I can't speak from personal experience. MXX
