Progress and 2 questions

Well the final pathology is through - had to go through a HISH and then a FISH test but HER2 negative and ER and PR positive. Pretty good news really.

Also have my appointments set up to meet medical and radiation oncologists Friday and next Thursday so will know what options, etc I'm looking at - knowing is my friend at the moment!!

So I'm preparing myself for chemo - any suggestions for what I should prioritise?

Also I've been told that have an infusaport or PIC line might be a decision to make - what have others done and considered when making a choice?

Thanks and I look forward to any comments, Dette xxx

  • I personally hate my portacath, but that is probably just me!  It is definitely easier for the nurses to access for chemo, but I still hate them stabbing the darn thing!  Sorry but out of the whole chemo experience I have really struggled with my portacaff!

  • Hi Amanda

I met oncologist today and decision made by the end of hour session!! A look at my history and veins and he highly recommended a portacath also playing up the role of less 'stress' finding a vein at the beginning of each session. I have that done on Monday and then my 1st session the following Monday.

Thanks again and hope all is continuing positively for you.
