I can so relate to having to deal with the fragility of those around you!
I was prepared for my husband & young teens to be upset/ worried when I told them about my diagnosis. The person who peeved me off the most was my mother! She kept phoning in between my diagnosis & 1st Specialist appointment to ask if I had any more info & how I was going & how worried she was & could she come over & hug me & bring food over for us ... ugggh!
Sorry to hear your daughter has also resorted to self harm to deal / cope with her emotions - it's such a scary & confronting thing for everyone in the family. My daughter has been self harming for 18mths (6 weeks since the last time) & has had long (6wks) & short stays in the Adolescent Psych Unit as a result.
