Post op, again!
Round 2 done! Here's hoping that's it.
All receptors are back, we are ER/PR and HER 2 positive. Yay for 12 months of herceptin! Not!
Roll on port a Cath
SO you are triple positive, I am ER+ and HER2+.
I love my port (sure I get the occasional twinge of pain where it is inserted on occasion (mine was implanted 31/03)), it makes my chemo (and herceptin) so much easier.
I feel sorry for those without one when I am having my chemo (I am 1/2way - YAY! 3 down , 3 to go (TCH - Taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin)), while they get stuck and often more than once as there veins collapse etc due to the chemo, and for those with breast cancer you see it even worse as they can't switch arms.
Did they do another wide(er) excision or did you get a full mastectomy this time?
Are you home already? or posting from hospital?
Did they put your port in for you while they went back in (It would have been good if they did, but I doubt it) ?
Are you having chemotherapy or just herceptin?
Do you know what kind of Chemo yet? I have TCH (taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin) every 21 days for 6 cycles, with the Herceptin continuing of course for the full 1 yr (or 18 treatments).
Rest and recover and get ready for the next part of the journey.
My thoughts are with you. ?
