Post mastectomy and feeling abandoned.

Hi Brenda, I was in hospital for 3 days so I think being kicked out after 24hrs is abit harsh.I've been a nurse for 40yrs and I shudder at the lack of care in hospitals these days.Ofcourse, there are always the lovely nurses still around and your breast care nurse should be one of them.Ring her and insist she deals with your drain and all your issues.Your pathology results are usually through after a week but the Hercepton result takes longer so give it 2wks?Your GP gets a copy so make sure you ask for one. It's a very anxious and vulnerable time for you and you need abit of kindness and confidence from the medical staff-shame you didn't get it.As you start to get abit stronger, demand the treatment/courtesy you deserve.big hug, Tonya xx
