Yes, I had Full CT body scan, bone scan, echocardiogram before chemo. Yes, to check nothing has spread, but mostly so they have something to compare it to later on.
The most interesting thing was all the unrelated things they found in the scans like hip bursitis and a bone island, foot arthritis, lung nodules, liver spots. Things a lot of people probably have but never know about.
I asked for copies of all my scan reports as I was interested.
I am also now going for a breast MRI, another full body scan post chemo to check lung nodules. I have also had a brain MRI as I got horrendous headaches with FEC ( and I get migraines) so it can be quite normal to have all these things done during treatment.
Then there can be multiple blood tests especially if you have the misfortune to land in hospital during chemo where they will test everything! And in my case find nothing to indicate why I got the high temperatures.
There won't be too much that you haven't had scanned, tested, discussed or measured by the end of it all. Jennie
