Portacath Pain
As I have particularly rubbish viens, my lovely cancer nurses suggested a portacath. After them digging around my knuckle to find a vein, I was more than happy to take their advice.

I remember being a bit shocked and almost let down recovering from the port op because it does involve a bit more pain than the lumpectomy and axillary clearance I had earlier. I had quite a bit of bruising probably because it was after my first AC treatment. Fortunately the bruising went away (after what seemed ages!!). I also hated feeling a slight ache slightly to the front of my shoulder but that went after a little while. I have full range of movement too. I've finished my chemo and am keeping it in until Feb's CT scan. Very grateful for the port. Chemo is so much easier!!!!
LOL! make sure they keep vacuuming for you. :)
