Port is in!
Well the Port (PowerPort) is finally in and I'm so pleased I went down this track. Every person I spoke to at the hospital supported my decision to have the Port inserted as opposed to the PICC line....

Yes the Emla patches are for numbing the skin prior to a needle. Maybe I wont need them like you say...? If the needle pain is no worse than the usual jab for a cannula, then I probably wont. For some reason i thought the needle pain was worse for the Port. Yes, it probably wont bother me once I get into the routine of using the port. I'm having some discomfort with the port at the moment but was told this will subside in a few days. Thanks again Helen, take care Celeste xx
