Hi. I'm sorry I missed your post. I was quite tender on the chest wall where the port was stitched in and high on the collar bone where the tubing goes over the top then into the vein. It took quite a while to settle. I found sleeping with a flat pillow which I hugged really helped as it stopped your chest folding in on it. These days I still have my port...2 years on...and I have a soft toy I use instead of a pillow.
On the OR table your arms are outstretched so wondering if that may have caused some soreness? Im not sure how long but it was a few weeks before it didn't hurt and the port site always felt a little tender after use. I still have it flushed now but it doesn't hurt like it did during chemo.
