Port A Cath is now in

Hi everyone.

My port a cath is now in. I was petrified (im a sook) but once again the Mater didnt let me down. best medical people ive ever encountered.

Its a bit tender when I turn, but its ok.

I placed an order with www.headcovers.com last Sunday.....can you believe it was just delivered to my door? How is that for service. I will be doing an order again soon.

ive also found the wig I think I want. Heading down for a fitting tomorow and hopefully it suits me and i can bring it home :)

Im getting prepared for the pending hair loss. lol

Hope everyone is well and you all have a wonderful weekend.

  • You are doing so well Jodie.Headcovers are really great, and yes they are quick.I love Hathouse too,and they express post their stuff,so it comes the next day.Well nearly time for your first chemo Jodie. My second one is Monday,so tomorrow I start drinking my water again! My hair started to fall out exactly 2 weeks to the day after my chemo. It is still coming out today, and is really patchy. My scalp is a bit sore to touch, but nothing serious.Good luck and keep,in touchxoxoxRobyn.
  • Hi Jodie,

Glad to hear your feeling ok.  As you move forward you start to feel a bit more control.  I also had the headcovers caps, , I always wore them around the house, and always wore my new best freind "Red", when I left the house.

I am still wearing my wig out and about, my hair is growing but its very slow....still a bit short for me for go natural. My last chemo was on the 1st May 2013.

You will get used to the hair loss thing also, ifs confronting at first, but like everything else with BC, you seem to get used to it.  You will know when its about to let go..

Hope your chemo treats you well.
