  • Hi @Nikkilee, I had a picc line for the duration of chemo. I had a little bit of dried blood at the insertion site at the beginning which as @Sunshine0206 said not to worry because it will be wiped away at the next dressing change. I also knocked it about a little later during treatment and there was dried blood again however it also got cleaned away at the next dressing change. Each dressing change can sting a little due to the alcohol wipes but is totally normal. As I’m sure you would have been advised when they inserted the line that you just need to be vigilant about keeping the dressing dry, report any redness or swelling at the site immediately and be careful that the end of the external part of the line doesn’t get pushed in /out. With all that said I had no problems with my piccme line at all throughout treatment. Also when it comes for removal I just wanted to reassure you that it is absolutely painless. For me it was so much easier than being cannulated for each treatment/blood test. Wishing you all the best with it. Sophie
  • Yes. That can happen. Don’t worry too much about it. They will wipe it away at the next dressing change.
