Hi All,
Just a quick update, sorry it has been so ,long as life has been quite chaotic recently with kids, school events, my husband away for his work and I have been back at work too for 4 weeks now - I was very very tired when I went back to work but I am feeling much better now . It is 8 1/2 weeks since my reconstruction surgery and so far so good. I have very little pain just a few niggles here and there. The scar on my back gets easily irritated and itchy but it is getting better. In the first few weeks my back felt very tired and achy however I am pleased to say that it has decreased substantially over the past few weeks. My new breast looks and feels quite strange but the plastic surgeon assures me that over time everything needs to settle and de-swell. The implant just feels a little harder than a normal breast, hopefully it will all look a little more normal over time!!!
My next operation to reduce the good breast is on 11th Ocotber and lets hope that's the last I see of the operating theatre for a long long long time :). I have requested the same Anaesthetist for the next operation as she was very good at managing my pre and post op symptoms. Lets hope all runs smoothly again - I'm actually looking forward to the next surgery as it sort of signifies feeling a little normal again!
Have been thinking of you all and wondering how you are all going. I'm glad to hear that all went well for you Lydia - a relief that you know they got clear margins. Vicki glad to hear that you have decided on your option for reconstruction - waiting is the worst - let us know when you get a date for surgery - wiching you all the best for this one - you will be so happy once it is all over and done with.
I hope you are OK Hellen as well as your family - I haven't heard from you for a while - I feel like I am getting closer to those goals of mine.
Love and best wishes to all of you. Katie. xxx
