Hi Alice,
Phyllodes Tumors are a rare form of breast cancer and have 3 classifications: Benign, Borderline and Malignant. There are different schools of thought with regards to whether benign is considered breast cancer however according to my specialist and a majority of the information that I have read Borderline and malignant are considered breast cancer and all phyllodes tumors have the potential to metastasise and therefore need to be surgically removed ASAP and have clear margins of at least 1cm with the aim to prevent reoccurance.
If you would like more information I can send you a private email. Please feel free to join our Phyllodes Group on this network too - there are 3 of us at the moment. You are not alone even though it may feel like it.
Happy to answer any questions you may have too! Hope to hear from you again soon.
