oh that sounds much more do-able...the ct drink is still a bit cack, but i am so used to it now it's ok...oh and i forgot to mention that i had to pay around $990 for my pet scan, not sure if they have changed that since or not..not rushing to have another anyway..
I have regular CT scans every 3 months to keep a check on things, but thats only as mine is secondary and we are keeping a close eye on things
good luck :)
Sam

Hi elisha,
it has been a while since i had my pet scan (jan 2010) and at that time i was quite nervous myself..i had never heard of such a thing. You have to fast for this (can't even suck on a mint-nothing but a bit of water). Then they give u a jug full of liquid to drink, i use the term 'liquid' loosely! it is thick and has a 'dirty' taste, all i can remember is how yuk that was and u have to suck it thru a straw. You have to stay really still and they say not to even talk if u can help it. I would recommend taking someone with you as the take up time is about an hour so it is nice to have some one there for company..they could read to u to pass the time maybe. Go to the loo before u start too. Then u get taken to a CT machine and they have 2 parts to this scan, CT part 1st then they change the comp program and u go thru again so they can do the 2nd part. I had to travel a fair way for mine and the professor who had a glance at my scan had some questions for me (after I had waited a long time already), so our day was very long, another good reason to take someone with you.
Good luck
Sam :)
