Peripheral Neuropathy
Hi All,
I have started this new thread because I am worried.
I am 2 months out of chemo (Dose Dense 4xAC 4xPaclitaxol) and the neuropathy in my feet is getting worse. From the balls of my feet to my toes - feel like blocks of wood!
When I sleep, I sleep o n my side with my hands under the pillow. Recently (in the last week) I have been waking up wth pins and needles in my hands and fingers. When I put my hands down by my sides it goes away, but I naturally put my hands back there again and yep, more pins and needles. Do not notice anything during the day in my hands.
By the end of the day my feet are REALLY sore, red, swollen etc. All my oncologist said (on last meeting a few weeks back) was to moisturise. I haven't been doing it twice a day like she said to, so I will increase that, but any other tips? Should I be worried that it seems to be getting worse rather than better?

- SisterMemberIs feeling returning @jj70?
- JJ70MemberWHEN WILL ME FEET STOP SCREAMING....ARRRGGGHHHH!
- JJ70MemberOh that sounds promising @Sister. I might be going through a r 'nueropathical rennovation' then. :D
- SisterMemberMine get quite painfully tingly - like lots of pins and needles - just before I get some improvement in the PN.
- AfraserMemberIt just might be. Mine get a bit differently funny just before an (admittedly small) improvement. Any improvement is OK by me. Mine aren't painful any more which is good, but then again it's been a long time.....................
Only time tells. - JJ70MemberOh my feet are screaming at me and have been for the last couple of days. What have I done differently? Is this a good or a bad sign? Hot and tingly so much more than usual. I would put up with it without complaint 10 times over if I knew this was signs of improvement!
- RomlaMemberYep James Kollias is my surgeon and very popular in my district too.
- SisterMemberYou're with Kollias, too, aren't you @romla? I'm sure you've told me but my memory has gone to the pack. Gathering from conversations at my exercise classe he's got quite a fan club - all the women love him. And I agree with you - his manner makes things seem in control and positive.
- RomlaMemberWhat I notice about my BS is his beautiful hands and steady kind manner .He is in his early 50s and a bit 80s time warp with his appearance but heck who cares.I enjoy being in his orbit .
- PatsyNMember@kmakm I'm definitely gonna take a photo of my guy next visit.
