Forum Discussion
Hi marg, my cancer is also grade 2 and I am also considered young for BC as I am only 52 years old. I have one appt next week for oncology where they discuss your treatment plan with you along with the rest of the pathology results. I work in retail and I am always busy chatting away to people but I have taken 3 weeks off for the surgery last week and all these appts that I need to go to, and waiting for the treatment plan too. After that, I guess it depends on whether I have chemo or not. If it's radiation and hormone therapy then I can plan those appts around my work which is part time anyway. However, if I have todo chemo then most people I have heard seem to take off a minimum of 6 months to a year from work. So that's difficult if you need to work, mortgage, and all other financials. I also agree that the radiotherapy isn't worrying me as much as possibly having chemo and all the side affects. But we are lucky to live in Australia where we are able to get wonderful medical care and we as you say, will cope if we have to.
Good luck for next week and I will be thinking of you too.
