Pathology results all clear

Yay!  i must have someone on my side watching over me. It's no chemo for me, nodes and margins all clear.  Not that i fully understand all this but i am learning so fast. I am so relieved.

I am positive hormone receptive  so treatment plan is 6 weeks of Radiation  5 years of Tamoxifen and zoludex because i am pre-menopausal. Apparently I will go into menopause with in 6 weeks of commencing. True or not?

I know i am so lucky compared to so many of you ladies that have had to have chemo and mastectomies  even though i am still really low about my total experience, it has really whacked me out.

I still haven't seen the gyno/specialist  about the finding in the pap smear but i must say i am quite happy to wait for that one. I am learning that i must move one step at a time, and not get myself so worked up.

Hope everyone is doing well and i will fill everyone in on the next adventure soon. Thanks for being their.

Thanks guys  Jo xxx

  • Hi Debbie,

Sorry you had to have a hysterectomy recently, hope it was nothing to do with Cancer.  You have been through heaps and  have come through the other side. Good on you.   Isn't it strange everyone is just so different with their results. It 's not what color, size, shape etc the cancer is,  it is what the surgeon think is the right treatment for you. I will always be scared that mine will return but i guess that is every woman s fear after this horrible disease.

I start treatment stuff tomorrow, Have just brought the Zoladex injections ready for the Doctors and might start taking the Tamoxifen tomorrow too. Radiation in a few weeks. My boob is much to sore and swollen to have anyone tough it.

Good luck with your recovery and hope you are feeling a lot better soon, take care.

    Cheers Jo xx

  •  I have not been on for a while had a hysterectomy recently and have been away resting at my daughters place.

I had grade 2 lump 15mm,  no nodes involved had 15 out and a mastectomy in March this year, I was lucky and was put on Tamoxifen and Zoladex injections. I started to go through menopause, Hot flushes .  Since hystyerectomy have now been put on Femara, hot flushes not as bad as they were.

    Good luck . Debbie

  • Thanks for your comment. I am so wrapped hey, i let everything get to me emotionally while waiting for the operation and that dreaded biopsy news to come. I am still really emotional though but this can only get better.

How are you doing with freezing your eggs. You have one on ice which is great, are you going to continue on IVF. It is  so expensive isn't it but well worth it in the end.  Just don't stress anymore, you have a loving caring husband and everything will work out in the end.  hope everything is ok with your op last week. Hope everything comes back  clear now because you surely deserve  a break . Good luck for Tuesday, we all will be thinking of you.

    Cheers Jo xx

  • I am so happy for you Jo, that your pathology results came back all clear, Yay!!!!

It must be a huge relief that you don't have to go through chemo now.    Good Luck with the gyno results, I hope that comes back all clear for you too.

    Take care.

  • Thanks Monica for your kind words,  Im so glad your results were good too. It's like a big burden lifted when you hear that everything was  clear. Its sad you have to have chemo, it was something i was so scared about having. so i hope you have a easy time with it.

I must have been very lucky as mine was only grade ll and 2 cm  invasive lump.  Thanks again and good luck  with your treatment.

    cheers Jo xx

  • Hi Jo , I am so happy for you I know the feeling. My pathology results where good too not spred but because the tumor was large nearly 3 cm and was grade 3 I was recomended 4 cycles of chemo, radiotherapy plus hormonal treatment . I was told the same thing about becaminig menopausal on Tamoxifen. I am so happy for you, keep up the positive thinking, be happy and look after yourself. Glad to hear that all is well with you. Cheers, Monica
