Pagets Disease

This is a hard time for you and it is hard to find information on Paget's as it is so rare. My GP was very good and after my Mammogram and Ultrasound didn't show anything he was not satisfied and did his own research. He didn't actually know too much about Paget's himself and admitted he had never treated a patient with it. Also my Surgeon admitted when my Pathology results came back that I was the only patient he had seen with the cancer cells only in the nipple and not from a small lump elsewhere in the breast. Hence I need not have had the full Mastectomy but I was just pleased to be rid of the cancer. It takes time to come to terms with it all and get used to the new body but now two years later I am well and doing lots of walking, playing badminton and enjoying my little grandchildren. I feel for you with such a young family but take each day one at a time and try not to worry too far ahead if you can. I am sure your little girls will keep you busy which is a good thing, little ones are a delight. Like you I had a very supportive family and friends which helps immensely. Hi Kahu, Thank you as well for responding so quickly. The last month has been a huge roller coaster ride and I must admit I've felt very alone trying to comes to terms with my diagnosis. I have the most wonderful husband, adorable girls and beautiful family & friends. Like any disease friends and family can support and love you however unless you have been diagnosed it's impossible for them to really understand. I'm trying so hard to remain strong, positive and determined to look at the bright side however secretly I'm crumbling inside. Outwardly everyone is commenting how brave, strong and well I'm coping. Thank you so much like Sue for now being my personal champions and letting me know a mastectomy is a reasonable option. Best wishes, Kylie
