Paclo ciclib

Hi guys,
I have just started taking tamoxifen 1 week ago but my oncologist also told me I would be a candidate for Paclo ciclib.
It freaked me out a bit as its a trial. Because i dont know enough about it I declined and kept with the tamoxifen but know Im second guessing myself.
Has anyone else on here trialed this drug?

  • I am considering going on the trial, my Oncologist suggested it.
I did have some rather unpleasant side effects on chemo though so will have to investigate it further as a lot of the side effects listed are what I experienced on chemo. Still it is a different drug, so maybe it will have a different effect.
In my situation I think I might give it a try and I can always come off it if it doesn't agree with me.
If you google Palcociclib, there is a very good fact sheet that comes up that is helpful.
  • I am about to start this drug hopefully and have been told amazing things about it from various people in the cancer field. I have also been told it is quite well tolerated by most women. It is a clinical trial here but has been used in other countries for quite some time now with pretty amazing results. Definitely go for it because people on clinical trials tend to do better anyway because they are so closely monitored.
  • I had constant nausea, heartburn, strange rashes, fatigue, sore scalp and low white counts. It felt too much like AC chemo for my liking.
  • Annabelle, I have taken Palcociclib as part of a trial but had to discontinue as I had nasty side effects. This drug much tougher than my Zoladex and Letrozole combo.
