Hi Brenda, overnight is a big ask for a mastectomy. I had a large lumpectomy with plastics repair. I was so high on pain meds that when they said go home the next day I just said yes - I would have said yes to anything. I'm a nurse so didn't want to be a patient. After I got home and the pain meds wore off I really regretted going home so soon. Take your time and don't rush it, you'll know when you can cope with daily living at home.
I went public and they fed me a late dinner following afternoon surgery. Praying all goes well for you on Monday and sending you hugs,
