  • Hey mich, I am a noisy nutterball most of the time so I think my family would enjoy me being out for the count! Narelle they did my radioactive injection pre theatre and the dye once I was under. It did hurt a bit but not too crazy. Still have blue pee!
  • Hi DansBoobs

Good news and we will all be keeping our fingers crossed the good news continues.

I have a wide local excision and sentinel node biopsy with taking 2 nodes.  They were found to have micrometases so then I had a total axillary clearance of another 17 nodes which were found to be clear.

Because of not being able to get full total clearance around the tumor due to being to close to chest wall and the micrometasis I have gone on to have chemo and then will follow up with radiotherapy.

You have done well and your beautiful smile is so contagious.  I can just see you on the cancer ward making all the patients feel great.  Hopefully you will continue to feel great and be well looked after.

The laxatives are definitely a good bit of advice unfortunately.

I remember how high I was after both surgeries and me who is normally fairly quiet and shy they couldn't shut me up.  I was so happy and so grateful and so everything.  Wish we were like that all the time, mind you our families probably wouldn't like us like that 24/7 hee hee

    Well done kiddo

    Mich xo

  • LOL!  I was picturing a graffiti'd cover of some kind!  :)

  • Glad to hear you are back from the darkside! The blue boob might be from the dye they use in theatre.I came back with blue rings around my eyes, looking like a panda.Apparently the blue dye didn't agree with me.I hope your pathology stays the same cos that's a huge relief to have clear nodes.Good stuff that endone- don't forget a laxative! You are over the first hurdle so rest up and get looked after- we nurses find that hard to do.

  • Hi Danielle, Hopefully that won't happen.. I did not have sentinel node biopsy, but initial fine needle biopsy of breast and lymph node by US guidance. A week later I had the mastectomy and axiliary clearance of 22 lymph nodes. Only one of which came back as completely replaced with metastatic tissue. I have had constant battles with cording in my arm and chest/abdomen since then, and over 8 sessions of laser therapy. The first 6 were over an hours drive away-a long way for Tasmanians! You have given yourself the best chance of keeping your lymph nodes, so rest up in the knowledge that you have done all that you can do and surrender to the journey that unfolds. I wish you all the best, the waiting is probably the hardest part. Cheers Sonia :-)
