Hi @Lmc1310,
Have you been diagnosed with osteoporosis or are you just worried about the effect of Arimidex on your bone density?
I had low bone density after treatment and 2 years on Tamoxifen. Switching to Femara (Letrozole) saw my bone density plummet to osteoporosis diagnosis in the lumbar spine in 1 year.
I then found a program run by a place called The Bone Clinic. I saw their dietician to make sure my diet was optimal for bone health and their exercise physiologist who measured my functional movement and made sure I was ok to undertake their weightlifting program.
Without any medication for osteoporosis I reversed my osteoporosis at the lumbar spine within 12 months. I do the program twice a week and it is a very simple but effective program based on research through the Griffith University in Qld.
I still have another 6 years on Femara but hope that this program will help me to keep my bone density ok without osteoporosis medication.
Seeing an exercise physiologist, even if you are taking osteoporosis medication can really help to keep your bones healthy, especially while on Aromatase medications.
Congratulations on finishing Herceptin. Take care.
