Thought I would post back re: op. Firstly I can't thank all ladies on here that have messaged me. This site is pretty great. The hospital let my partner stay with me until I was taken away for the op. His job interview went pretty good will hopefully know more on Monday. So the op went well. When I woke up I noticed I had a drain attached. Which I thought was weird as my surgeon said does not use drains. I thought something went wrong. When the drs saw me the next morning they explained to me that the blue dye would not travel so they had to remove all the nodes. That is why the drain was there. Did not really have too much discomfort. They checked on me in the afternoon and I had to stay another night. I had a very nice room mate and we got along really well. We did our physio together. On my third morning I. Hospital I was told that my fluid from my drain was still too much and it should be clearer. I needed a another night for it to come down. My room mate was getting discharged today. Felt kind of weird. I remember looking at the cut under my arm and freaking out a bit about it being so big. After our showers this morning my room mate and I compared our wounds. She had a bi-lateral mastectomy. I had a lumpectomy with full node removal. I must say for a woman with large breasts they did a great job on my boob. Later that day my surgeon came up and looked at my drain and it was clearing up. She was happy to discharge me but I had to take the drain with me. I was so excited but a little scared at the same time. I had a great sleep my first night home. Second night is a little harder. I have some nurses coming to see me in the morning to help me with my drain. In a bit more pain but glad to be home. Stayed at the parents tonight but having trouble sleeping. Can't wait to have this drain out. Night all xxxx
