Operation date set!

Well I have the date, Wednesday 11th January at 7am I am due in hospital for mastectomy of left breast and removal of lymph nodes for testing. Got some new pjs for hospital and getting prepared. Had some aches in the boob so it is reminding me that it needs treatment! Glad I don't have to wait too long. Then I will have to see what the pathology tests bring. What an exciting start to a new year...not! But I did manage to have a great xmas with my family and felt 'normal' for a few days away from home. I wish everyone well for the new year and will post again once I am back from hospital. Thanks to everyone for their kinds words of support, it has meant so much at the beginning of this journey.

    I'll be thinking of you too Chris on the 11th.Hope all goes well,let us know how you get on.Wow,new boobs for 2012- you've earned them girl! I get so fed up trying to find high neckline tops/clothes in summer.But I'm way too much of a coward to face reconstruction- it's no walk in the park.Best wishes- love Tonya xx

    Hi, The girls have given good advice.  The other biggie is make sure you do the exercises religiously.  Just be High Maintenance to yourself and you will be okay.  Best wishes for 11th. XLeonie

    Hi, the 11th is my surgery date as well, but I'm at the end of my journey. I had my first mastectomy on Dec 22nd 2010, and then after chemo I had a second mastectomy and the start of reconstruction in September 2011. This surgery will swap the expanders for the silicone, and the time has gone so quickly. I will be thinking of you on Wednesday, and wish you well, and good pathology results to follow. Love Chris xx
