Hi Leonie and Tonya, tomorrow marks a year for me too. On December 22nd last year, I had my first mastectomy, having been diagnosed on November 24th, and had a lumpectomy on December 1st. Due to the size and aggressive nature of the tumour, ( 21mm and grade 3), it was suggested that more surgery would be needed, and so I then opted for a mastectomy. I had had a bit more time to think about the radiotherapy, and realised that I didn't want it by then. I have never regretted making that decision to have a mastectomy, especially when I keep hearing about lovely ladies like yourselves who have done the Radiotherapy, only to find cancer again some years down the track.
