One year on!
Hi all you wonderful ladies,
Firstly my huge apologies to all who have continuously supported me since I first posted for the lack of posts and communication in the last 5 months.
Yes it is 12 months today that I had my ultrasound and fine needle aspiration - in some ways it has gone quickly and in others.....well! I am now doing pretty well and am working 3 days a week ( in a new slightly less stressful position) when the checkups, scans, etc allow me to!
I must admit that I've had some times where I really did battle especially losing my sister in November last year midway through my radiation treatment and the day before my 90 year old mother started her radiation. Christmas was a bit tough but we're both recovering well and my sister's children are now starting to bounce a little again. I had a scare at my last check with a spot showing on my liver and lung so off for a PET scan which confirmed the lung but not liver - phew! We currently playing bait of a waiting game with the lung as it's too flat and awkwardly placed to risk doing a core biopsy at this stage!
My children and granddaughter continue to be a tower of strength and bright lights and I'm really looking forward to my son's wedding in December. My husband and I have taken the plunge and booked a holiday - we leave for Vietnam and Cambodia the day after my next check at the end of May. If anything more shows up it will just have to wait for 3 weeks while we have a long waited for rest!
To those ladies new to this site I say a fond although sad hello and will endeavor to support you as well as the wonderful acquaintances who have helped me through this time so far.
I hope this finds one and all as well as can be expected!
Dette xx
PS I had my first hair trim 2 weeks ago - it's growing very thick and curly!!
