One year on check up plan advice?

Sorry Jo, I can't help you.  I don't even know what will happen to me.  I got my appointment for 1 year check and told to bring in old mammograms.  I did not think I could have mammograms because  I had a double masectomy.  Hope it don't pop my new boobs. ha ha

Hi Annie,

My pathology was triple negative ( HER2,pregesterone & eostrogen -) therefore I dont take the hormone therapy. Its kind of scarey because they said its one less thing in their tool kit that they can fight it with for me. Thats why I want to make sure that I stay on top of the correct follow up tests.

I am 43 and felt about 100 years old, chemo really is a bitch. I still have peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) in my feet,aches and pains and hot flushes. I have been seeing a naturopath and accupuncturist trying to do anything to help myself back on the road to recovery. I am slowly but surely starting to get some energy back.

Congratulations on your wedding. How lovely you should post some pictures.

oh thats great news Jo Im so happy that they helped you. Good luck with the rads and keep up the sorbolene slather on as much as you can, as often as you can. I used the rayderm but not sure if its available at the moment.

We were close with our operations! Im feeling fine now my scar has heeled well and i can finally feel under my arm. they took all the nodes and i only got feeling back last week.Ive had to travel far for my appointments chemo and radiation so glad it is nearly all over. Im waiting now on a date to get my ovaries out.

Are you doing hormone treatment? Im on exemestane and am struggling with side effects.Mainly joint muscle pain.Wondering if i should put up with it or try something else.Its six of one and half a dozen of the other it seems.I could change and have worse side effects.

Im glad to say im back at work and can excersise again.Chemo knocked me around i felt like a little old lady and im only 40! And i got married last week! So all is finally looking up for me!

I did what you and Tonya said and  emailed the Health Minister from WA and put a complaint in with the hospital and the Breast clinic nurses told the surgeons who also spoke to Radiology .  Amazing,  all of a sudden appointments appeared  out of no where! .   I have had numerous calls back and apologized . Start treatment Monday week the 24th. Thanks for your help that day cause i probably would not have done anything if you didnt mention the Health Minister etc.

At least you will have piece of mind on your cruise, good luck

hmmmmm thanks Jo for letting me know. Ive decided to go to the surgeon appointment in November to discuss it all and maybe have the ultrasound and mammogram end of December. Thats 6 months from the end of my treatment and I can go on my cruise in December. Its very annoying that there isnt a set regime.

have you got any further with bringing your radio therapy forward?

One more week till i have my radiation but i  have already received my Mammogram and Ultrasound appointment for February 2012 about 6-7 weeks ago.Just after my op in August.

I got told 6 mths post op  and then 12 mths post op for the first year.  I dont know there after.   I think every surgeon is different.

The Google sites may have been American, Maybe we do things slightly different. I would keep your appointments you made as 12 months seems too long to wait.

Hi Ladies

I had the same treatment as Annie. I was diagnosed in June 2010 and had my mammogram and ultrasound at the end of May I only finished radiation in Feb.. My surgeon said one year from diagnosis. Was all good but was so nervous until I heard.
