One year on...

Friday was the one year anniversary of my last diagnosis of breast cancer! (and May 2nd was 8 years since the first time) - Wow, where did that time go!!

The year seems to have flown past and I can't believe how quickly it all seems to be behind me again!  I won't have any more mammograms or ultrasounds because I've got no more "real" boobs, so that's a plus but I think the fear is always in the back of your mind......particularly if you've had breast cancer more than once!

I am keeping my fingers, toes and everything else crossed that this is the last time!  I really don't want to have to go through it all again.

I will have regular checkups with the oncologist and my surgeons but no scans of any kind unless I find a problem.  It's a bit scary really.  It would be nice if I could just have a blood test or a test of some kind every year to tell me that everything is ok......

I hope everyone else is coping alright?  Good luck to anyone who is going through treatment at the moment - I hope you get a really great outcome.

Take care my lovely ladies,

Louise xx

  • Thank you for your kind wishes everyone!  I am really busy with my work at the moment so I probably won't be on here as often as I was, but please keep in touch.... Good luck to all of you for a wonderful, happy and healthy future xx

  • Congratulations Louise and thanks for sharing along the way. Your a champion. I agree wholeheartedly that it does seem scarey when the treatment finishes. I felt a bit lost and very scared.

Good luck Louise and keep us posted. xoxo

  • What an acheivement!! Beaten it twice. I have enough trouble beating it once. I hope i never have to fight it again. It will do my head in.

Be kind to yourself and enjoy live to the full.

    Hugs from me

  • Another milestone.  Congratulations.  I am due to have my scans this month.  It is scarey but heh what can we do.  Just get on with it and enjoy life.  I have even got my husband thinking that way -most of the time but of course he is a MAN.  He stresses too much over things.  Best wishes XLeonie
