One More Day
Hi pardners in BC,
Tomorrow is the day that will change my life once again, it was changed with the diagnosis and 3 operations and now with a mastectomey it will dramatically change again............
Hi Jacqi, tough times ahead..don't be suprised if u find it confronting to see urself in the mirror topless..it can be to start with. Just remember that u can come here for support, a lot of us know just how u feel but we all also have different reactions and feelings..for me i was fine about losing the boob-couldn't wait for it to be gone, after all, it had 2 cancerous lumps, why would i want it anymore anyway???
I had my hair shaved off in readiness for chemo, and then went for a shower, spying my reflection I felt more shocked than ever at what i looked like..i looked like a sick person, i looked like a cancer patient..and that event was very confronting and sad for me. But, i had my tearful shower, got it out of my system and with the unconditional love of my hubby i learnt that all this appearance stuff didn't matter at all..just how the path looked on the way to recovery and i wasn't gloing to look like this forever...
Hope this helps..good luck with ur surgery and that chemo can mop up any other nasties lurking
Sam :)
