One Lump or Two?

One lump or two- hmmm.  Surgeon seemed to think a prophylactic (preventative) mastectomy was OK but the reconstructive surgeon looked a bit amazed at the idea.

My intial lumpectomy resulted in margins that were not clear and now mastectomy/ mastectomies will follow my chemo.

Keen to hear from both camps- were ladies happy with their decision to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction to avoid the trauma of possibly having to go through diagnosis and treament for a second time?

Also experiences of having expanders and later implants (no Lat dorsi or tummy bits).  How do your lady lumps look in a bra/ bathers??

One chemo down and three to go- not too bad really.  Side effects as predicted lasted about 6 days and now feel fine.  Glad I am not having to work though- god bless long term employment and lots of sick leave.
