  • i am thinking of you at this time, and i agree with the other posts.  it is a tough journey and it is ok to ask for help.

thanks for the post and glad you are hanging in there.

  • Taxotere is the toughest !  but hopefully you only have 3 left now after your post,

I had a roster as i was knocked off my feet for 5 days each session and needed some help to get dinner etc and basically laid on the couch for most of 3 months as seems to affect your blood irons levels - so no energy at all.

So hang in there, get some good dvd TV series to watch -  I had Entourage - great show !  was my little highlight during the really crap times.

I could also feel the taxotere during the first week, all around my chest, as it works through the lymph/circulation system, its weird, thrush too, and the strangest finger nails,  pink, brown and white then have extra 4 white stripes across each nail, but at least they didnt split and break :)

take care with food as not sure what happened to me but ended up with gastro twice, its was probably the drug towards the end, make sure you have Immodium? & gastrolyte  handy in the cupboard just in case. remember one day at a time, and its ok to have crap days on taxotere

because its there to help you/all of us in the long run !

    take care xox, Bardoe

  • Yes Jo,I'm with you.I thought Taxotere was the pits. For about 3 days you feel like roadkill from a mack truck.I had a shocka of a headache but didn't get the sore chest.Other ladies on this site have complained of that though.Wow,9 attempts at your veins-you are so brave.I would have done a runner by attempt 3.I think it's a good idea to see a councillor because you are going through so much. Not many of us get through this bc journey without some sort of help.I ended up on a low dose of antidepressant and it helped me.Hey,you are only human and it's normal to be emotional about all this stuff you have to deal with- especially at your age.Thinking of you Jo.
