One down five to go

Hi, Well I have had my first round of Chemo. I knew it wouldn't be a picnic but I didn't expect it to knock me like it has!! My first thought is how am I going to manage this. I have two girls, one 5 and one 3, I also have a wonderful husband and this weekend all I have done if felt really sick. So sick that I couldn't bear the thought of doing anything with any of them. Now I feel really bad for wanting them as far away from me as possible.

I know I will manage this but OMG.......!

    Thanks for the tip. I suppose it is learning to adjust and to listen to what your body is telling you.  Thanks for the tip. It is much appreciated :)

    Hi Kerry,  My first chemo was awful, but I did get better at coping with it. I learnt what to expect during the 3 week cycle and kept a 3 week spreadsheet, where I listed down the symptoms of each day, which were similar in the next 3 week period, which helped me plan my routine. Good luck.

    Hi Kerry,  My first chemo was awful, but I did get better at coping with it. I learnt what to expect during the 3 week cycle and kept a 3 week spreadsheet, where I listed down the symptoms of each day, which were similar in the next 3 week period, which helped me plan my routine. Good luck.

    Hi Kerry,

    I finished my chemo six weeks ago and am now on to radiation. I was also shocked at how it knocked me around. I am 43 and I was planning to keep working through chemo!!! My doctor had said some women do this and are ok - how silly was I to listen! My chemos knocked me out for about 10 days each time. You just have to go with the flow and hopefully your family will understand. My kids are teens and they were pretty good through the whole experience. Hopefully your husband can explain things to your girls in a way they can understand - it's really hard I know. Best of luck with it all and be kind to yourself.
