oncologist visit

2/12 years now and still I worry every time I have to go to the onc. I look around the waiting room and I know I am so lucky as there are so many sick people there but I still get the butterflies in the stomach. No need to panic though as everything was good and I left in record time, clutching my prescription for Arimidex.

I have been to the oncologist so many times that I now call her by her christian name, but she still doesn't know my name. It is written on my files in large black letters but she still calls me by my surname! I wonder if she will ever be interested enough to get it right!

Enough rant! I am well and that is the main thing!

  • Hi Lynne,  I ditched my longstanding GP after my first diagnosis of BC.  I paid her a visit and she said "Oh you had BC - what breast was that"!!!  Gone.......  I always thought she was away with the fairies.  Congratulations with the good results.  Yes Arimidex is a lifesaver - but also a "pain giver".  Maybe some day someone might find an improved version without the side effects. • I was having a bit of a downer yesterday and feeling sorry for myself but everything looks much rosier today :)

Some days I am in so much pain with crook knee, back and hips but other days I have next to none. Today is one of the good days (hurrah). I have 2 1/2 years to go on Arimidex so I am half way through the course and looking forward to the day I finish! I am very grateful that I am still here and I count my blessings every day.
