On Going Discomfort & Pain

Hi everyone. I havn't posted here for a while, but I have an issue that I would like to talk about here. I would also like to see if any of you are experiencing the same as me, and get some advise.

I was diagnosed with early stage 2 grade 2 invasive BC in '07 at the age of 36.  In 2010 I underwent a mastectomy & lat. dorsi reconstrution, of the breast that had the BC in '07 due to my mother also having BC in the same year, my age,  family history of cancer fullstop, breast & other types & my risk of the cancer returning.

It's now 3 yrs since the surgery & I'm still suffering with pain & discomfort, especially around the rib area where the scar is & in the breast under my arm pit.  The pain & discomfort is a mixture of stinging, feeling like the area is swollen, pressure & acheing.

I'm hoping there are others here who have the same problem & can suggest what I can do. I do take pain relief, but I didn't think I would still be experiencing this 3yrs after this surgery.

    Hi Kerry-ann

    I am sorry to hear you are having troubles with your LD reconstruction well after you would expect to be comfortable. I haven't had this specific procedure but quite a few ladies on the breast reconstruction online group have had this procedure and may be able to help you.
