Offline but still love you all!!!

Hi all, Just to let you know that we are going to Brisbane today to see all the oncologists to find out what treatment lies ahead for me.  I will be offline until my return on 30th January unless I can rob someone's laptop in the meantime!!  BIG news, yesterday I decided on the spur of the moment to get my hair cut.  My husband has never seen me with short hair (we've been together for nearly 13 years).  I love it - it is up to my ears.  Next time I will go even shorter in readiness for Chemo.  Take care everyone and I will chat on my return - if not sooner.  I apologise to all of you that I need to answer.   So much happening but I will catch up on my return.XLeonie

    well Leonie, so sorry to hear this news, but if fingers and everything else being crossed helps, if goes without saying we are all doing just that and sending positive thoughts to you, Thinking of you and hope all goes well, you know if there is anything we can do from a distance we will also all be there.     Hi there, so pleased you are home - at least for a little while.  Life has certainly chucked a curved ball at you this time hasn't it, but I have no doubt you will come thru it all with flying colours, your positive attitude will see to that.

    Trust you to have something "different and unique" .... no run of the mill stuff for you is there?

    How is the DVT going ..... don't wish any ill on your other half but it would be great is he could go to Brissie with you for company and support (almost like having your favourite teddy to cuddle with when you're away from home).  Where will you be staying when you are down there?

    I'm not going to give you all the advice about taking care of yourself bacause I know you'll be doing everything in your power to stay strong in body and soul.  Wish I could be there to hold your hand through this, but I can be there mentally if not physicaly.... so I'll be sending positive thoughts to you.

    If you finish all of this by early Sept you'll have a couple of months to get yourself organised for your trip to the conference in November.

    Can't wait to see the "new and updated" you .....not that there's anything wrong with the "current you"!!!

    Hi Lee

    Just arrived back home again from Brisbane.  Have been away for 11 days.  Hubby back to GP tomorrow and then we will know if he will be off work  for a couple of months or not.  If he is then he will come with me to Brisbane for my radiation.  I start on 14th Feb - 25-28 sessions.  Then back home again to start chemo.  I hope I come through the radiation well so that I can start the chemo as soon as I get home - end of March.  Realistically though I reckon it won't be until mid April that I start chemo.That should take me to early Sept for a finish date.  I am to have 6 sessions of chemo.  The medical oncologist said it is my last chance to "get it good" so that's what we hope to achieve.  It really is different second time around and of course mine is an unusual case - nothing for the specialist to gauge on.  Very unusual to have BC back in the lymph node near the previous site.  No one wants to say if it is another primary or if it is secondary.   I am going with the Radiation Oncologist (cause I like him -so chilled) who says that is "a return of BC in the axilliary" - not secondary cancer.  It was difficult for me to "know that I had secondary BC".  My daughter took some photos yesterday of me with my little granddaughter at a Thomas and Friends train museum at Ipswich so I will download a new pic.  I bought a short style wig in Brisbane the other day.  I love it - it is a shorter version and colour to my new "do".  Better get some "shut eye" in my own bed....XLeonie

    Hi Leonie,.

    I know you got my message I tried to call last week. How's this, I literally just put my head set on to give you a buzz and had the online network infront of me - to see you're heading off to Brisbane. I'll give you a buzz after 30th Jan. Was just calling to touch base in the New Year and see how things have been. Managed to touch base with Terry last week too which was lovely. We're all thinking of you here.

How's this, I literally just put my head set on to give you a buzz and had the online network infront of me - to see you're heading off to Brisbane. I'll give you a buzz after 30th Jan.
