  • I had my first chemo (FEC) on Monday and was really scared, but the oncology nurses and my husband were fantastic!  I took the calm-you-down pill and it helped a lot.  I also stayed in overnight for extra hydration.  Came home Tuesday feeling 'hungover' which has eased now,  I just feel tired.  So far it's not as hard to deal with as I had imagined.

I am lucky as I have great family and friends supporting me so I can rest up.

You sound like you are going in with a great attitude and by the look of your profile pic you have a lovely family to give you plenty of TLC.

    Good Luck and keep smiling!

PS - Even though I am so tired I still can't sleep through the night, so I get up have a herbal tea and read for a bit.

  • Good luck for tomorrow Shaz.I hope you put laxatives on your chemist list! If you get to the unit and feel anxious, you can always ask for a calm-you-down-pill. It sure helped me because I was ready to do a runner.Seems like you are well prepared and also very brave. You had such a rotten time of it with surgery so hopefully, you'll sail through chemo.

  • All the very best Sharon for your first chemo and for the rest of your treatment.  We are here for you.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to buy out the chemist.  Hope you don't need any of that stuff.
