- JenvMemberOoh thanks girls, will see tomorrow if my local chemist has kennelog.
- UnicornkissesMemberThe Medijel is good for during the day, The Kennelog best for night time and as MEL says, you will see improvement quickly with it. I got mine over counter at Chemist Warehouse.
I hope you feel better quickly, ulcers make you miserable. - melclarityMember@Jenv Yes Kennalog is over the counter and the medijel sounds like bonjella which is completely different to kennalog. It feels like a thick paste and is a bit yuk but if you smear the ointment over the ulcers you can get to in your mouth at night when you don't have to speak is best lol. Just rinse your mouth the next morning, but I guarantee within about 2 days the pain of the ulcers will be gone. :) Melinda x
- JenvMemberThanks melclarity....will go back to saline rinses...a friend got me a product called medijel to smear on ulcers/sores...i guess its like bonjella where it provides relief and numbs the area but it only works for a short time.....can u get kennalog over the counter?
- melclarityMember@Jenv i remember also having a tingly face on taxol too. I only had mild neuropathy in my fingers and toes.
With the ulcers the salt rinse is the best thing, im actually wondering if the savocol is aggravating it. Id maybe stop that and see if it settles especially as you say they seem to be going down your throat. For mouth ulcers Kennalog ointment is great, it's a cortisone paste so you smear it on them at night and its very effective within 48hrs youll see a difference. Hugs Melinda xo - primekMemberOh dear...you poor thing. Maybe an early call to treating team is in order or bc nurse.
- JenvMemberThis week have developed numb and tingly feeling around mouth, i guess similar to feet, neuropathy of face which effect nerves....also developed severe mouth ulcers and sores trying to salt rinse and use also savcol mouth wash...really annoying as ulcers headind down throat, very uncomfortable feeling...need to get on top of it.
- UnicornkissesMemberI get numb and tingling lips and tongue for the first week on Docetaxol, quite unnerving and makes it hard to spit toothpaste out. I used to get strange shooting tingling pains in my jaw and up to my ear with FEC.
- fairydustMember@KatherineH wouldnt hurt to mention it to your oncologist. I have a tingling sensation up and down my spine at times. I was told it was my periphal nerves that were affected in my back and that was why the tingling. Perhaps Ac affecting nerves in face but not sure.
The main thing I remembered on Ac was an overdose of mouthulcers and other things. Luckily I had 4 doses over eight weeks and glad to finish. Taxol was a hundred times easier to tolerate for me.
