Now that I have hair, on my head I scratch it in wonder

Hi Pink Darlings - Now I have hair on my head I scratch it in wonder.  I just answered a blog re 'frustrated with friends' and it really started me thinking.  As you all are very much aware, this illness tends to create a lot of personal thought provacation (big words!) but it's true - I mean I have really taken a step back and started to work out the shite from the Shino - and there is an awful lot of the former!  Now we all have had experience with the fiends (sorry friends) and family and some of their behaviour - and as you know some of the behaviour and reactions are of the most 'alien' kind!  In our situation, we sort out the wheat from the chaff pretty darn quick! But, that aside - I am here - chemo over, radiotherapy over, Herceptin ongoing.....I want to go for a trip to Tassie - and here's the dilema, I am feeling like (a) can't be bothered (b) every place I lived there, went to school and worked there - has all been pulled down and demolished! This I know because I 'Googled' it all - kind of like taking a peek inside the wrapper of a present at Christmas - I spoilt my own fun!  As for the former 'The can't be bothered' factor'.......I think that is just how I feel at the moment, you know, all the travel with the medical treatments bla bla bla - I just don't know if I am up for it (the trip to Tassie)......just yet...........so I will leave it on the back burner, maybe by February as I will be turning the big Six-Oh! I might be so despondent witht the lack of birthday phone calls, we just might jump in the car and head for the ferry.........why not!  Right now I am peeved with my kids for one reason and another (mainly the lack of interest regarding me on their part) and family (except for one absolutely gorgeous old Aunt and I love her sooooo much!) I am extremely grateful to my husband as he is the 'quiet' hero, he has stood by me through this thick and thin....Bless his cotton socks!  In the meantime I have one of my grand children down here from QLD, (her Mummy said she's too hard to handle) turns out the kids fine (what do you expect of a 14 year old) any way the upside is that we have forged a wonderful relationship the past three weeks - and I will be bawling my eyes out when we take her to Tullamarine on Wednesday.....I still wait for my kids to ring, and as my eldest pointedly reminded me a couple of months ago  "Your dialing digits are can be utilised too Mum" - Gee, thanks I thought, I as SO sick of being the one to ring up all the time and she tells me that!.....so here I am with very short but rather soft and furry tabby-cat hair, scratching my head in wonder..............Pity I hate flying, I have never been overseas! Right now it looks SO attractive!!!!!!!! x x x
