As you know Leonie,I went through the same dilemma with my job of 16yrs. I.ve now been "free"for about 8 weeks and don't miss it at all.I will keep in touch with friends there on a social level.Moving into our new home has been all consuming and I am so glad I left work.The final straw(there often is)was when my boss couldn't give me a week off in October to have a holiday with my daughter to Melbourne to see the Tutankarmen exibition.Gosh,life's even shorter when you've had cancer twice.I'm not saying I have retired but rather taking a long break.We have BIG travel plans to Europe etc next March so this house has to be under control before the year is out.Josie,think bigger than Tassie-shock those kids of yours and spend their inheritance!! On the subject of kids,how's this:- We sell our big home and downsize to a new single level,fences and landscaping on the go,tradies here every day,not much furniture so boxes everywhere-got the picture.Youngest daughter and her partner decide to buy a block of land to build and want to move in with us for 6mths+when they sell their townhouse.Well there goes my sewing/hobby room that I hadn't set up yet . Ain't life full of surprises.Josie,you are not alone.I ring or sms my girls cos they are trying to save their phone credit.I know they love me but sometimes you get abit sick of being good ol mum,she's there if we need her.At least we have adoring husbands.
