Hi Penni
Thank you for your reassurance. I am also in the Northern suburbs and not far from the Northern Hospital. I have to give my oncologist my decision next Tuesday. While I don't want to have chemo, who does, I think it is necessary. At the moment it is not attached to any vital organs bt then again, these nodules weren't showing up on my CT 6 months ago either.
My oncologist has told me that I will have 6 treatments, one every 3 weeks. He will start organising the drugs and I guess a portacath for me from then. I think my first treatment will be in about 2 - 3 weeks.
What are the staff like at the Northern Hospital in the chemo department? I go there and have my CT and bone scans done, it is also one of my options for chemo.
I was looking at the look good feel better program at the Northern, but I am unable to make that one, so I will try and get in on the one at the Austin. When I find out what other things will have to be done, I will then organise it. I am very keen to keep on working, but I also don't want to scare the kids. I will be talking to our kinder president in the morning and letting her know how I feel. She is pretty good and very easy to talk too.
Can I ask if you have any other children and how old you are? How is your husband or partner coping with alll of this?
Thanks again Penni. Good luck with your treatment and let me know how you go.
Tracey
