NOT THE BEST OF NEWS

Hi all,

thankyou to the people who replied.

My appointment did not go as good as i thought.

The results have come back with traces of cancer in my Lymph glands.

I do not have to have another op but I do now have to have Chemo.

I will have to wait untill i hear from them and get an appointment.

All I can say is that this is just another hurdle i have to go through.

Thanks again to all.

Thinking of everyone else and positive thinking to all

  • Hi Jody, I'm in Adelaide too.  You should try and come to some of our luches/dinners/get-togethers here in Adelaide.  I've been to a couple that the Adelaide Breast Cancer Friendship Group organise.  I met Sam there a couple of weeks ago too :)

I'm not sure how to link you up here but Cellbird (Celeste) is one of the people who organises it, everyone is so lovely and so positive and supportive.  I get a lot out of going to meet everyone, much more than I get on-line.  Are you on FB?  There are some other suppot groups that are good there also.

The whole BC thing is a big roller-coaster, you just have to hang on tight and go for the ride....that's what I'm doing anyway ;)  I had my mastectomy in December and am now half way through my chemo cycles.....my chemo was cancelled on Tuesday because of low white blood counts, so another dip in the rollercoaster but next week will be back to my "normal"

Take care and please contact Celeste, you'd really enjoy our little get togethers,

    Karenxx

  • Thanks Sam I live up south at Hallett Cove.

I would love to catch up with anyone up this way.

    Cheers Jody

  • Yes not the news that you would really want.  Let me tell you though that chemo is doable.  It is tough but what kept me going was the knowledge that others had gone before me and had achieved "the finishing line".  One day at a time and go with the flow.  Be easy on yourself and you will get through.
