no receptors

can anyone tell me how common it is for tumors to have no receptors on them and if they don't can you go back on hrt? also how long does it take before full movement is restored to the masectomy arm, I'm doing all my exercises, but it is restricted above my head.

  • If the physio doesn't help me I thought I might try an oncology massage therapist. Have you travelled down that road ? I wonder if it's like deep tissue massage. I have been very good with the exercises, but my drains took a while to come out so couldn't really push those above the head and wall based ones. I thought maybe looking at aqua aerobics and working at my own pace sort of thing but I start chemo next week and energy levels could be tricky?

  • Hi Newbie,

I had the first of 3 operations in May 2011 and still can only lift my arm above my head if lying down. I had months of physio which was enough to enable me to lift it to the required position for radiotherapy. I am not back at the physio but it is not improving.

My surgeon does not explain what is wrong...

    I think early exercising helps.

  • thanks poppy, How are you travelling? I think I'll go to the physio, I thought it might be "cording?". Do you still feel really tight across the chest as well?
